Hi, I’m Natasha.

Ooh, look at me welcoming you to my creative blog, where I will introduce you to all the fun, creative and crazy things I get up to.

I am a wife and a mother to my 3 children and 2 dogs, so you can imagine how chaotic it can get in our house.

“Ooh, look at me!” is an ironic name because I actually don’t like drawing attention to myself or my family, yet I really like inspiring others to be creative because I know how fulfilling it can be. The name also comes from something silly we used to say years ago and it kind of just stuck with me.

Check out our About Us page for more information about us and what we do.

I hope this brings you creative joy

Let’s get yarning and creative!

Book Review (Review & Photos By Kayleigh) - The Art of Drawing by Giovanni Civardi

The Art of Drawing (Collection) includes:

Drawing Light and Shade (Understanding Chiaroscuro)

Understanding Perspective (Form, Depth and Distance)

Heads and Faces (With Character and Expression)

Sketching People (Faces and Figures)

Drawing Pets (Dogs, Cats, Horses and Other Animals)

Summary

This is a collection of five books that teach you how to draw/sketch. They show examples and descriptions with tips to help you learn different techniques. Some of the illustrations included have been drawn by Giovanni himself but there are also pictures from other artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci.

Review

I have found these books to be very informative and helpful as well as inspiring. I wouldn’t say I am the best artist in the world but these books definitely helped me improve a lot, personally and in my school work.

At first these books looked daunting and complicated but once you start (especially if you draw as you work through each chapter) it gets easier and makes a lot of sense.

My favourites are ‘Drawing Light and Shade’ and ‘Understanding Perspective’. These two books were a lot of fun and are most useful together. I always thought light and shade and shadowing were very interesting. I feel like they give great depths and dramatic effects to pictures.

Even if it looks scary and difficult just give them a try. You might be surprised by the outcome. You can create your own style, mine isn’t perfect (not at all like professional artists) but that‘s the way I like it because it shows I am different and that’s my kind of perfect. Even mistakes can be masterpieces.

Below  are some of the pictures I drew, I hope you like them and I hope that they inspire you to be creative and inspire others.

I give “The Art of Drawing” a rating of 5 out of 5!
