Ooh, look at us socialising and sharing!
Hi, I’m Natasha.
Ooh, look at me welcoming you to my creative blog, where I will introduce you to all the fun, creative and crazy things I get up to.
I am a wife and a mother to my 3 children and 2 dogs, so you can imagine how chaotic it can get in our house.
“Ooh, look at me!” is an ironic name because I actually don’t like drawing attention to myself or my family, yet I really like inspiring others to be creative because I know how fulfilling it can be. The name also comes from something silly we used to say years ago and it kind of just stuck with me.

I hope this brings you creative joy

BOOK REVIEW (By Natasha 15/11/16) - Crochet Basics by Nicki Trench
“Crochet Basics” is one that teaches how to crochet and includes 20 projects to test the lessons out with. The projects include cushions, blankets, scarves, hats and bags. It has tips and techniques that teach about yarn types, how to hold a crochet hook, right through to essential stitches and how to read a pattern and chart. You can find this book online, I recommend www.thebookpeople.co.uk because you can get it for £4.99, which is less than half of what it costs in other places. It also has a different front cover to the one I have used. If you don’t want to buy the book it is available in a lot of libraries. If your library doesn’t have it, you can request for them to get it in stock.
I hadn’t realised that “Crochet Basics” was written by Nicki Trench, author of the “Easy Crochet” series, until I got it out for this review. As always, Nicki Trench is bringing crochet to those who not only want to learn the craft but to those who are eager to start projects right away, enabling them to learn while achieving an end result.
The book is laid out in a clear and concise way. It is supported by vibrant images that aid your learning of this wonderful craft. The projects are varied enough to suit every taste. There are some gorgeous placemats that will really inspire your creativity. Along with some cushions that will inspire your personal style. There is even a jumper and a camisole top that any beginner can achieve quickly. The charts are large and clear making it easy to follow and understand.
“Crochet Basics” has everything a crochet beginner needs. You will be crocheting in no time!
I give “Crochet Basics” a 5 out of 5.
