BOOK REVIEW (By Natasha 02/12/16) - A Letter to Santa by Gaby Goldsack
“A Letter to Santa” is, obviously, about writing letters to Santa. It takes children on the journey of what happens once they have written their letter and what Santa and the elves do with it. The book includes printed letters and envelopes that can be filled out with Christmas wishes and sent to Santa.
This book is beautifully written and illustrated. Children will love this to help get them in the mood for Christmas and writing their lists to Santa. We purchased this book about 10 years ago or more for our daughter, Kayleigh. She never wanted to write on the letters or envelopes, so they are still included our book. Although, the pocket that they are stored in at the front of the book is a bit torn. Other than that it has been well cared for and is now a favourite of Kameron and Korey’s (as well as mine).
If you want a book that will keep your children engaged throughout the excitement of Christmas, then this is the one for you. I have also found that it is a great educational tool. It assists children with their reading skills because they want to read it themselves as it is about Christmas. The letter writing also gets them practising handwriting when they don’t even know it, which is the best form of progressive learning.
