Ooh, look at us socialising and sharing!
Hi, I’m Natasha.
Ooh, look at me welcoming you to my creative blog, where I will introduce you to all the fun, creative and crazy things I get up to.
I am a wife and a mother to my 3 children and 2 dogs, so you can imagine how chaotic it can get in our house.
“Ooh, look at me!” is an ironic name because I actually don’t like drawing attention to myself or my family, yet I really like inspiring others to be creative because I know how fulfilling it can be. The name also comes from something silly we used to say years ago and it kind of just stuck with me.

BOOK REVIEW (By Natasha 16/12/16) - Lucy & Tom at Christmas by Shirley Hughes
“Lucy & Tom at Christmas” is about a traditional family Christmas. There is tree decorating, present wrapping, children waking up early, Christmas dinner, games and family visits. It is very Christmasey.
If you love the “Alfie” series then you will absolutely love “Lucy and Tom”. Shirley Hughes has such a gift for writing and illustrating children’s books. She gives you that warm feeling of family and a place to belong. It reminds me of war time when they had a time of true togetherness. It is relatable because it seems based on a real way of life. Kids waking up early to open their presents and getting grumpy throughout the day because they are tired. Fun family games for everyone to join in with on Christmas day. Everyone helping with Christmas dinner and above all else, family and friends being together at a wonderful time of year.
These books are very similar to the “Alfie” books. Lucy and Tom are just like Alfie and Annie Rose. Even though they are similar you will still love “Lucy and Tom” as much as Alfie. The pictures, the text, the storyline - it is all completely enthralling and you will want to read more from the “Lucy and Tom” series. I cannot speak highly enough of Shirley Hughes’ books. I love sharing the stories with my kids and they are the perfect bedtime read!
Our family give “Lucy & Tom at Christmas” a rating of 5 out of 5!
