Hi, I’m Natasha.

Ooh, look at me welcoming you to my creative blog, where I will introduce you to all the fun, creative and crazy things I get up to.

I am a wife and a mother to my 3 children and 2 dogs, so you can imagine how chaotic it can get in our house.

“Ooh, look at me!” is an ironic name because I actually don’t like drawing attention to myself or my family, yet I really like inspiring others to be creative because I know how fulfilling it can be. The name also comes from something silly we used to say years ago and it kind of just stuck with me.

BOOK REVIEW  (By Natasha 16/12/16) - The Christmas Stockings by Mathew Price

Summary

“The Christmas Stockings” is about Santa trying to deliver presents to some children but can’t seem to work out where to go. He passes through many doors, which are the flaps you can lift to see onto the next page and also open it from that next page to see back to the previous page. Santa eventually gets to where he needs to be but is disappointed with the size of the stockings that the children have left at the end of their beds. What do you think he will do?

Review

There is a fun story behind us getting this book and the reason why it is one of Kameron’s favourites. Kameron found this story at pre-school (pre-k) and he used to call it The Snocking book because he thought that was what it was called. It was obsessed with reading it over and over, as well as with opening the flaps. He loved it that much that he kept on about it after he had to return it to pre-school. We suggested that we try and find the book to buy. However, this was easier said than done. This seemed to be a rare book and not many people owned a copy. Those that were selling it wanted extortionate amounts of money for it. We kept looking for a very long time and eventually someone was selling a copy at a very cheap price because it was used and had been drawn in. Kameron was the happiest little boy when it arrived. He didn’t care that it had been  drawn in nor that some pages were ripped, he just loved having it. That was all about 6 years ago and he still loves it now, so does his brother. He even still says that it is his favourite.

The book has a wonderful storyline and fun pictures. The idea for finding the flaps on each page is a great idea. This really is a fantastic Christmas bedtime story that kids will love.

Our family give “The Christmas Stockings” a rating of 5 out of 5!
