Ooh, look at us socialising and sharing!
Hi, I’m Natasha.
Ooh, look at me welcoming you to my creative blog, where I will introduce you to all the fun, creative and crazy things I get up to.
I am a wife and a mother to my 3 children and 2 dogs, so you can imagine how chaotic it can get in our house.
“Ooh, look at me!” is an ironic name because I actually don’t like drawing attention to myself or my family, yet I really like inspiring others to be creative because I know how fulfilling it can be. The name also comes from something silly we used to say years ago and it kind of just stuck with me.
Check out our About Us page for more information about us and what we do.
I hope this brings you creative joy

Cuddly Doggy Blanket - For your child to love and keep warm
In 2014, I crocheted this for my youngest son, Korey. He picked out the yarn himself when we made a trip to Hobbycraft one day and told me he would like me to make him a blanket. I made the design up as I went along. Korey loves the blanket and loves to have it as one (OF HIS MANY) that he has on his bed.
The finished size of this is approx. 42″ (106.7cm) by 29″ (73.6cm).
I worked in UK Half Treble Crochet/htr [US Half Double Crochet/hdc] stitch for the first quarter (from top) and then a UK Treble Crochet/tr [US Double Crochet/dc] stitch for the rest. I did this because it was very time consuming. Also, as I was too impatient to undo it all I just changed stitch type which made it work up much quicker.

Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake Chunky (shade - Fluffy Plum 704)
More than 10 x 25g (0.9oz/68yds/62m) balls.
Weight category: UK Chunky [US 5/Bulky/Chunky].
Tension/gauge: 14 stitches x 19 rows = 4″ (10cm) on size 5.5mm/UK 5 [US I/9] hook.
The crochet hook I used was a 5.5mm/UK 5 [US I/9].
I would give the Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake Chunky yarn a 2 out of 5 for the following reasons:-
- It was quite difficult to work with as I couldn’t see the stitches properly to know where to put the hook through. This was down to it being fluffy;
- There is a reasonable choice of colours available;
- The feel of it wasn’t as soft once it was made up and if you suffer from dry skin (as I do) it feels more like sandpaper than fluffy soft;
- The cost of yarn is quite high - I paid about £2.39 per 25g ball and used more than 10 balls. One ball really doesn’t go very far!
- Would I use this yarn again? NO.
I used oddments of other yarns for the ears, nose, feet and eyes - usually something that came FREE with a magazine.
I hope this brings you creative joy and inspires you to start your own yarn-tastic journey.
